Ferguson riding the wave of retirement... with a boat trip around his beloved Scotland

After 26 years in charge of Manchester United, fans wondered whether Sir Alex Ferguson would be all at sea in retirement.
Well, he has kicked off his post-management days with a family boat trip around Scotland.
Despite being a regular in the south of France during his summer holidays, Ferguson has decided to sail from Oban to Iona.

The trip will see them take in the Hebrides, North and South Uist, and Benbecula.
Ferguson is joined by his wife Cathy and their family, including twin sons Darren and Jason, elder son Mark and their 11 grandchildren.
Ferguson's close friend pal Craig Brown - the former Scotland manager - told the Manchester Evening News: 'Sir Alex is looking forward to his family holiday of a lifetime.
'He has been in New York and France since he retired as the boss at United but his dream trip is a cruise.is to go on a Scottish cruise. I thought he wanted to sail round the Caribbean or somewhere exotic.
'Sir Alex told me he was desperate to go on a cruise around Scotland. He is taking his whole family – sons and grandchildren included.
'I think the cruise starts in Oban and he will then be sailing on to Iona and he will also be taking in North and South Uist and Benbecula on the route. Sir Alex is deadly serious about this.'
Brown claims that Ferguson has a deep interest in Scottish history to the point where he could have been a university scholar rather than a football manager.
Brown added that Ferguson used to hold quizzes on team buses for away trips.
He said: 'Sir Alex is well read on Scottish history and all things Scottish. He is a very intelligent man and he has a Catholic knowledge.
'He was always one for the trivial pursuit questions and quizzes on the buses to away games. He was the font of all knowledge on all things Scottish.'
